Since going to newsprint and printing monotone, which has its own quality and at times beauty, there are times when even a great black and white iteration calls for the beauty of color.

So what’s wrong with this picture?
The picture was taken of a glorious weather system over eastern New Mexico on July 6. This storm system spawned tornadoes in Lincoln County and later in the evening there was a magnificent lightening display.
The picture was used to illustrate alternative fuels, specifically solar and wind.
However, this pump jack in the Permian basin, which covers parts of eastern New Mexico and west Texas was a few miles east of Hobbs in that other state; you know the one that’s a whole other country – Texas.
