The movie is a little bit lame, but it's a Western! With some great shots! That, plus these comments, are a wonderful memorial to him! From an American living in Cape Town, South Africa, thank you Ed, for being you, and thank all the rest of you, for remembering him!Bill Hillikernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24946442.post-86364369813991103672008-08-02T20:01:00.000-06:002008-08-02T20:01:00.000-06:00This was a good piece, and a proper tribute for Pe...This was a good piece, and a proper tribute for Pennybacker.

I do appreciate the visuals and the old history of a time when good clean images, dialogue and music were being transmitted over the airwaves in such a professional manner.

Oh my, and the comment by St Cyr is the icing on the cake. I would have loved to hear the banter on the set and seen Mary Lynn Roper's face upon the review of the tape...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24946442.post-28509373004641760712008-07-30T09:31:00.000-06:002008-07-30T09:31:00.000-06:00This is a great tribute piece. What a nice collection of photos.

My funniest memory of Ed Pennybacker was from the early 1980's when he was hosting "On Your Behalf," a consumer report on Action 7 News.

One night, as usual, Pennybacker was running late to the set for the opening camera shot (a wide shot showing all five anchors) when he tripped and fell short of his chair. Just as he was lifting himself up, the director punched up camera three. The only thing viewers saw was Ed coming up from Mary Lynn Roper's lap where he'd fallen.

It was embarrassing to him, probably shocking to the audience, and hilarious to all the production people on the set.Peter St. Cyrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16236017743112639819noreply@blogger.com
